AUGUST 2010 NEWS (Update)...
Soooo, finally got the catalog done. What a relief! I
have had sooo many people email about prices on horses in the sale. My father
wants me to let everyone know that all horses are going through the sale and
there will not be any sold prior to the sale. The horses are available for
viewing on sale day. We prefer not to show the horses prior to that day as
there is so much that needs to be done prior to the sale. We have many nice
horses in the sale. It is just time to cut back. My father has wayyy to much
going on and Jason and I are expecting our third child next spring in the midst
of building a house. I don't forsee much time for showing horses in the next
few years. That is why all of our available 2010 foals are on the sale. THey
need to get out into show hands rather than sit and wait for us to get
time. There will be no foals held back but I will say I think one or two
were not put on the sale because they got hurt and we could not sell them that
way. The only show horse that we did hold back was Absolutely Classic. She is
my favorite, mostly because I am emotionally attached, I was able to convince
dad to let me keep one. All the remaining show horses are on the sale. Our two
year old AQHA mare Lookin lika classic will show in the select world and be
brought up for the sale. She is also qualified for the fall AQHA world in open
if the buyer is interested. In addition to our show stock we have some really
good mares on this sale. Most have a produce record or show record and most
sell in foal. The mares will be in their everyday clothes just in from the
pasture so that you can get a true picture of what they look like. They will
not be in "sale" shape and then go home to melt away the fat. If you
have any questions just email dad or myself. Make sure to get signed up for
realtime bid prior to the sale if you are planning on bidding online. Until
then, take care and be safe

JULY 2010 NEWS (Update)...
July has started off a little rough for us. As most have already heard--our town of Bellevue was involved in that tragic parade accident as two horses got spooked and took off dragging a wagon through the crowd. Over 24 injured, mostly children. One of our horse friends was killed in the accident when she was thrown from the wagon. Just terrible for everyone. As you can imagine--it makes you take time to appreciate what we do have.
As far as the horses are concerned, we are getting things ready for the PHBA world. Our weanling stallion, Absolutely Golden has a little fever right now and has gone off eating. I am not sure if he will make the trip but we will still be taking Absolutely Solid. I think they may also take Kids Blonde Bombshell. She is just an April foal and will have a hard time competing with the more mature foals but she is still a little cutie and we may take a chance. I am excited to watch from home and cheer on all the bucky foals at the show. Unfortunately I have to work and take care of the kids and horses so the week will not be real enjoyable for me.
I will try and update the site once the show is over. Take care.
JUNE 2010 NEWS (Update)...
Just got back from a great Pinto World Show...
Every horse
shown that was sired by one of our stallions or out of one of our mares won a buckle.
A total of 8 horses with 10 buckles.I have the individual horses listedbelow, congrats to the owners--what a great show.
The four we tookourselves came home with 5 buckles--we are just thrilled!!
Despite the long
hours and hard work we had a great time with some good friends. Special thanks
to John, Wes, Bruce, Josh, Eric and Aundie for keeping us entertained
throughout the week. I have attached a photo of TS Tiny Bubbles, the pony
WC and crowd favorite. Everybody seemed to remember him throughout the week.

Now that we are back home we will be busy with weaning foals
and seeing what we can get ready for the PHBA, ABRA and IBHA shows. The babies
are getting bigger by the day--I swear they each grew an inch while we were
away. I have also included a photo of some mares and foals in the field. What a
great photo with three great mares and even better babies. Dad will be busy
getting ready for his sale, I believe he is going to sell all the 2010 foals
(including the ones we take out to the world shows). Again, the sale date is
September 5th and when the catalog is complete we will add it to the website.
JUNE 2010 NEWS...
As always, it is a bit crazy around here. We are getting
ready to take off for the Pinto world show, in the middle of weaning babies and
trying to organize for the PHBA, ABRA and IBHA world shows. We recently got
back from the APHA Memorial Day show in Cedar Rapids. Good numbers, great
people and nice horses. We did not have the show we would have liked but that
happens. Our yearlings are in a growth spurt and although we love the height
(15'3), we need some weight. They will be great this fall when they take a
break from growing up up up. We are still going to take both Absolutely Classic
and Absolutely Solid to the pinto world along with Im Too Tuff For You in
weanling mares and TS TIny Bubbles in pony halter. Yep, we are showing a
pony--Dads favorite, so we thought we would take him.
We couldn't be more thrilled with the AQHA results. Kids
Classic Style has taken over the #1 leading sire spot for halter horses. There
are some really great offspring showing this year and we are excited for the
owners!! Dads two year old Lookin Lika Classic has qualified for the open and
select world and so she is done showing for awhile. The yearling filly we sold
last year, Saraphina, was first under the morning three judges at the Texas
Classic in a tough class of 10 yearling mares. We are so excited for the
Wolters family--she is a great mare!!
Dad is planning on having a reduction/production sale this
fall, I believe Sept 5th. He is putting a large portion of his mares on the
sale as well as every 2010 foal. This would be a great opportunity to pick a
future show prospect or broodmare. He just needs to cut back on numbers. We do
all the breeding and such ourselves and it gets to be too much when everyone
also has full time jobs and business's. I believe he is having the sale
at our home farm but their will also be live internet bidding. Check the
journals for future updates.
Until next time--have a good show season and be safe with
your travels. Casey
MAY 2010...
Things are starting to settle down with the breeding season
coming to a close. We are now starting to wean a few foals and decide what may
work at the summer world shows. Dad got out to a show getting Lookin Lika
Classic qualified for the Select world this past weekend in Des Moines. He did
well winning the amateur 2 year old mare class and getting amateur reserve
grand champion under 3 of the judges. The grand mare was Shez One
Classy Kid (world champion mare by Kids Classic Style) so we were excited about
both. Pictured below is Wayne Halvorson showing this mare this weekend. What a
great mare she has turned out to be and such a massive mare and she is HYPP N/N.

Keep checking back for new photos on the foals page (if we
ever see the sun again). Jason and I are planning on going to the APHA memorial
day show in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Hope to see many familiar faces.
Finally, check out my new mare on our AQHA mares page.
Dancin In The Endzone is a AQHA/APHA sorrel overo mare by Touchdown Kid. She
is Hypp N/N and has 44 AQHA halter points and is bred to Bucky for a 2011
foal. Jason bought this mare for me for Christmas and we are just so excited
about this great mare. We just got her registered with APHA as she has two
spots under her belly.
Until next time, take care and see everyone at the shows!
APRIL 2010...
I love this time of year -- the grass is green, the sun is
shining and the babies are growing. I have included some pictures around the
farm this time of year. My favorite is the one with our dog, Lola. She loves the
babies and always has to be right by them when they are trying to sleep.
Absolutely Golden was getting some ZZZzzzzz's and Lola decided to go lick him.
If you look close you can see her tongue is sticking out in this picture. The
other picture is of my favorite mare, Absolutely Thrilling. She is 4 years old
and just had her forth foal. The three from last year were embryo transfer
foals. Even with a baby on her side she just takes my breath away. Updated
photos of her are on the APHA mares page. The final photo is a few of the foals
enjoying the lush green grass. I just love to take them out in the morning and
watch them run and run and run. I have also updated many of the foals photos as
well so take a look. Some of the foals are already sold but everybody wants
something different and with the number of foals we have I think there is
something for everyone.

We are trying to get off to a couple of shows this spring.
We had a good APHA show at Gifford with dads yearling, Absolutely Classic. I am
really excited about this filly and hope to get her to at least another show
before she goes to the trainer to get fit for the world show. It is hard for
Jason and I to get off to the shows. I have a full time job and have to work
many weekends and we have two little kids that require and deserve alot of our
attention. It would be hard to explain to them why we have to miss their soccor
games to go to a horse show. They are only little for awhile and we cherish
everyday. Dad even showed in Oklahoma and took Grand Amateur mare with Lookin
Lika Classic. This mare has soooo much mass and pretty to her. Hopefully he can
get her qualified for the Bayer select. We don't have many other yearlings or
two year olds held back to show. If somebody wants our show horses, we figure
all are for sale. We love to raise babies and realize that we can raise more.
We have a great foal crop this year and there are more than a few shining
stars.
We have seen some great foals from clients
horses as well. Keep the photos coming--we love to see them grow. By the looks
of it this should be a great show crop as well. Not only are they great foals
but they are in the hands of great people. Until next time, have a great
spring!

Ardmore AQHA Show--Lookin Lika Classic took Grand champion mare in Amateur mares with Tom Scheckel and Reserve Grand Champion Open mares with Wayne Halvorson
Gifford APHA Show--Absolutely Classic had two firsts and one second in a tough class of open yearling mares with Casey Veach. She was unable to show to the fourth judge due to a conflict.
MARCH 2010...

Just in time for the March update. We have been busy, busy
busy with babies, babies and more babies. It has finally warmed up and the
babies are loving it. I have included photos of LT Playgirl Dollar and her new
foal in the round pan on one warm day. We had to try and keep our English
Bulldog pup-Lola from joining in on the fun. She wanted to cuddle with the baby
in the worst way. I am trying to keep up with the foals on the foal page. I am
also working on adding a section on our website that bascically talks about
what goes on at our farm on a daily basis. I have had many questions regarding
everything from who does all the chores to where do we keep all the mares to
how do we feed our foals. I am trying to answer some of these questions and I
will add it to the website when I get some time. If any of you have questions
just feel free to email me at caseyveach@gmail.com.
The breeding season is going well. I have heard nothing but
good things about Iowa State. We have heard from many mare owners that they
are getting their mare in foal on one shipment. Bucky is doing
great and has taken a liking to his new home. Perfect is loving life with his
girls. Dad and Jason are holding their own during this busy breeding season.
Jason and I are planning on going to the Gifford 4 judge APHA show in April,
that is if everything is OK on the home front. Wayne Halvorson has done great
with Lookin Lika Classic who just took grand at a recent show in Oklahoma.
Hope everyone is having a great foal/breeding/show season
and we will see you all soon.
Casey
Feb 2010...
Waiting, Waiting and more Waiting---it seems that all we do lately is wait for these babies. Almost all of our mares are overdue and none seem in a real hurry. I will try and update the site as they come but it is a little crazy around here. We haven't got any of the show horses out yet. We are going to try and get a few out by the big Memorial Day show in Iowa. I am excited about all of them! We have some really great yearlings. Now, if we could only find room to get them in and get 'em fit on. Our next goal is to get the yearling buckskins and palominos in to get fit for the PHBA and IBHA world shows. We will see since we are bulging at the doors with mares and babies. My favorite yearling of the bunch is Absolutely Classic. She is sooooo awesome I am afraid to even take her to a show. She is 15'0 and just as sleek and elegant as always. She won't even be a full year until late March! We sold some really great show horses last fall and I love hearing the success stories from them as well. They will always be our babies and I live to hear how they are doing.
Bucky is settling into Iowa State just fine. He always seems to bring lots of attention to wherever he resides. Perfect is loving his new stall which has windows that overlook the office and the mare pastures. He just seems really happy (of course breeding season seems to help as well). This stallion just has an unbelievable personality. My father will open the stall door and then walk around to try and find a halter. In the meantime, Perfect just waits at the stall door with his head in the aisleway looking around. Once the halter is in place he follows my dad along the aisle of mares and pretty much just stops and lets dad know which are ready. He is a perfect gentleman at all times. My 87 year old great aunt (who knows nothing about horses) once stopped at the stable when my parents were gone. She wanted to see the stallion so she went in and opened the door and her friend took pictures of Perfect giving her "kisses" on the cheek. OMG!! He is quite but I think we can all agree that nobody would allow that interaction with their stallion during breeding season. Of course, he did not even nibble on her but I guarantee my father about had a heartattack after seeing those photos.
Try and stay warm and make sure to check back as we get new photos.

Jan 2010...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Hope everyones year is off to a good start. We have had a
pretty good start to the year. Our now two year old , Lookin Lika Classic had a
great holiday show in Oklahoma just missing the circuit championship. The
weanling filly we sold, Saraphina was the circuit champion yearling in
Oklahoma. Both are with Halvorsons so we get to keep a close eye on each. They are both really tough mares that just
get better everyday. We have not got out
to any shows yet with the paint string. It is a really busy time for us and we
may wait until later in the spring to get some of them out. A few of them have
been turned out this winter to grow and have fun. We will bring them in around
March to get ready for the summer world shows.
Still no foalsL I am about going stir crazy! The mares are
just happy and content being pregnant and don’t want to drop those babies. We should have a couple by the end of the
month but most of the foals will be in Feb and March. Keep checking the website as I will post
updates as they come. The first to foal should either be Shez Classy N
Sassy or Totally Tashmere. I have posted
photos of both on the mares page.
Bucky is getting settled in at Iowa State. He draws lots of
attention and seems to know he is “famous”.
Perfect and our new stallion Kids Triple Threat are getting used to
their new big stalls at dads house. We are really excited about out foal crop
this year. We have great mares crossed on all three stallions. We should have
something for everyone and again all foals will be available for sale. We only
have a few 2009 foals left. Most are horses we have been showing or horses
expected to show in the next year or so. They are for sale as well to the right
home. Most of the people we sold foals to last year were pleasantly surprised
what their money could by them. Like I said, there is something for every price
range and goal.
Hopefully the next time I update the news there will be some
foals on the ground. Until then, take care and good luck to everyone at the
shows.
December 09 update...
December 2009

We are in the midst of our first snow storm of the year. As you can see from the photos it is beautiful but a real pain. I thought I was going to have a heartattack hiking through 4 foot drifts to give the outside horses grain. As I was panting for breath I realized that our horses are extremely spoiled!
I am sure most of you noticed on our home page that Kids Classic Style has made the move to Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He is doing well and seems to love all the new girls taking care of him. We want to thank Wayne, Rebecca and Mike at Halvorson Ranch for all the great care and support they gave Bucky over the years. They did a great job and we plan on keeping some of our AQHA show horses with them. It was a tough decision to move him from such a caring home but we are extremely excited to have him closer to our home. Iowa State University also has brand new cutting edge facilities and equipment allowing the best of care of both Bucky and his mares. They have specialty trained veterinarians in reproduction and offer a variety of services including cooled semen, frozen semen and embryo transfer. I think most of you will be pleased to find out that the prices on these services is extremely reasonable and should save money for the mare owners. Make sure to check back as we are working on getting price sheets and such for our website. The email link is on our homepage as well as the phone number, make sure and give them a call with any questions. If in the area feel free to stop by and check out the facilities—they would be more than happy to show you around. Make sure to say hi to Bucky when you are there. Our other two stallions The Perfect Hustle and Kids Triple Threat are in the heated barn at Dads. He has made a new addition onto the barn so that each has a large roomy stall to call his own.
As it gets closer to foaling time make sure to check back as I will try and keep updated foaling pictures on the site. It got to be a little much last year so I am not guaranteeing anything. I hope everyone has a good holiday season!
November 09 update...
OMG! What a November!! We had a great APHA and AQHA world show. It started early in the week with the Paint show when Absolutely Classic and Absolutely Stylin won their respective Gold and Bronze futurities. Bigtime Style held his own as well getting second in the tough gold futurity. It continued the next day with Bigtime Style and Absolutely Classic winning both of their respective Platinum divisions. It was exciting for us to see the Bucky babies out in force as we are trying to prove to people that these horses can be shown as foals and not just as yearlings and beyond. In fact, Kids Classic Style with only three foals led the sires with money earned. Brooks and Dunn got the award for number of money earning foals with six. To say the least we were pretty proud as not only did father do well but his sons (Brooks and Dunn, Classic Link and Kids Classic Sensation) all proved to be great sires and supporters of the futurity. Well the next week was more of the same as Absolutely Solid started with a world championship in SPB weanling geldings and Absolutely Stylin brought home a reserve world title in SPB weanling stallions with a nice group of colts showing. My favorite moment of the entire show was when Absolutely Classic topped off the trifecta with a reserve world title in Open weanling mares. We decided not to put her in the tobiano class but rather see what she was made of in the tough open class. She did great for being a March foal and undergoing the stresss of showing 4 different times at the world. I was so proud I was brought to tears—as everyone knows, she is my favorite!! It was my dream to have all three embryos bring home a title—what a special show.

The best part of the show was the people. I think I saw more people at this world than I have in the past few years. Many new faces and great familiar friends stopped by to chat and we had a blast!!! Next year—same time and hopefully same place. We will have to make sure to bring two coolers next year. We cannot say enough about JT and Katie Mitchell. The horses they had of ours looked great and JT is always a professional in the show ring. Out of the ring—maybe not so much. Check out the photo we took of him in my winter boots! When we left Iowa it was cold so I took my big bulky winter fur lined boots to wear because I am always cold. Well, it was in the 70’s in Texas and I didn’t really need them but I only brought one other pair of shoes. I got a lot of slack and JT just had to try them on. It was a sight!

Well, next stop was the AQHA world show. I didn’t do as well as hoped with Ima Exception placing 5th in amateur yearling geldings. He had taken another growth spurt since Congress and just wasn’t as level as he was there. Later in the week our Bucky fillies did well with Saraphina getting 6th in the open weanling mare class and Lookin Lika Classic getting 5th in the open yearling mare class. They were both extremely tough classes so we were proud of both. Again, thanks to Wayne and Rebecca Halvorson and Mike Hall. They always have the horse looking their very best. Some of our show horses have found new homes over this last week. Saraphina was sold to Bert and Carol Wolters of Nebraska. She will be shown with Wayne Halvorson and eventually with their young daughter. What a combination that will make. Since birth we have thought that Saraphina will become one of the next greats. She was not quite ready for this world but as a yearling—WATCH OUT! Ima Exception and Bigtime Style also found new homes. The new owners are listed on the show page and I know these horses will do them proud as they continue their show careers. If anyone is looking for show prospects just give us a call. All the show string is for sale as well. We have to make room for the mares and the new crop.
We just cannot say enough how proud we were of all the Bucky offspring at both shows. Once again they have exceeded everyones expectations with outstanding and breed changing individuals at each show. See our winners page for all the details. The APHA show had 9 world and reserve world championships and the AQHA show had 4. There were 9 top 5 and 3 top 10 finishers at APHA and 5 top 5 and 8 top 10 performers at the AQHA world. A big congrats to all the owners and trainers of such fine individuals.
Check back to the site often as I am working on the 2010 list of foals and will update with new pictures of our champions for this year. By the way, I have attached a photo of our new English Bulldog puppy Lola. Isn’t she CUTE!

October 20th, 2009 Update...

Ima Exception
2009 CONGRESS CHAMPION OPEN, AMATEUR and LIMITED AMATEUR
YEARLING GELDING
Just got back from Ohio and what a great show we had. It was the first time Dad and I have been at the AQHA Congress and I was terribly nervous to show. Well, we couldn’t have asked for a better show as our 2008 gelding, Ima Exception was Congress Champion Open, Amateur and Limited Yearling Geldings—WOW!! He looked great thanks to Wayne, Rebecca and Mike at Halvorson Ranch. It was extra special as we raised this foal out of our mare, Im Cool N Lucky (by Ima Cool Skip). Way more than I expected and I think the reality hasn’t set in yet. We had a fun time meeting some new people and hearing about the Bucky’s that will be at the World. Congrats to the Bucky Congress winners that are listed on the winners page—WHAT A SHOW!
Speaking of shows—I am super pumped for the fall APHA and AQHA shows. There will be 19 offspring by Bucky at the AQHA world and 13 at the APHA world. In addition, there will be 2 out of our mares at the AQHA world and 3 at the APHA world. Lots to cheer for I have listed the entered horses below and I hope I haven’t missed anyone. I have to go through his registered list of 600 and some horses to check and see if each horse is by him. Needless to say it takes some time. Anyway, I wish everyone a great world show and we will be there cheering you on!!
Finally, breeding season is just around the corner and we are looking at doing some special discounts for Bucky this year. We are starting a HYPP guarantee on all breedings. We are also going to give a buy 2 get one free if paid by the end of January. This package can be for an individual or a group of people that want to go together and save some money. Until next time, bundle up and stay warm---SEE EVERYONE AT THE WORLDS!!

September 2009 Update
As always, the futurities were so much fun. We got to see a
bunch of old friends and got introduced to lots of new friends. We came out all
right with the foals. A list of the accomplishments is on the show page.
Dad and I just went through our breeding reports for this
year—we have an exciting foal crop coming for 2010. As we get closer I plan on
updating the website with expected foaling dates and such. In addition to Bucky
and Perfect we also have many good mares bred to our new stallion, Kids Triple
Threat. This was his first foal crop and despite the fact that we only bred a
few mares, we were impressed with the results. He has four registries—AQHA,
APHA, PHBA and PtHA—making the options endless.
Before we get into 2010 we need to finish 2009 with a bang.
Dad and I are heading to AQHA Congress in October to show IMA EXCEPTION in the
yearling gelding class. Next comes the
APHA and AQHA world shows in November. I have never been so excited for a world
show season. Not only are we showing 5 at the APHA world and 3 at the AQHA
world but we have heard of some great ones out of Bucky making a debut. I just
recently got an email from Sue and Phil Drawdy of CS Acres with new photos of
their boy MAXILINK. He is incredible in every way and bred to be that way as he
comes from an unbelievable lineage being the full sibling to World Champions, Classic
Link and Kids Classic Lady. He will be shown in the APHA 2 year old stallion
class with Clint Fullerton and you can believe we will be there to cheer that
guy on. I have included photos for your viewing pleasure. If you plan on
showing a Bucky or Perfect at the fall worlds make sure to email me with photos
and updates.

Hopefully the next update will include good news from
Congress. Until then, take care and have
fun!
August 2009 Update
Sorry, I am a little late with the August update. I would
have forgotten if not for a few people reminding me at the futurities. I am
glad to hear everybody checks the site to keep up on the latest news from
us.
Well, August has proven to be just as busy as the rest of
the summer. We were just at the HOI futurity with Fergilicious winning the
early breeders futurity class and returned today from the NEISCA futurity with
TS Perfect Conclusion winning the breeders and open futurity classes. We had a
great time meeting new people and getting the scoop from old friends. I think
the fall futurity time ranks right up there with foaling time for excitement
for us. We fit all our own foals for the futurities and are always amazed at
the new people we meet. We have Iowa, Illinois and Midwest futurities left this fall and then on to a crazy
World Show season. We plan on taking 5 to the APHA world and 3 to the AQHA
world. I am also going to stop in and show our yearling gelding Ima Exception
at Congress. Should make for an exciting
time!!
To add to the excitement I have been talking recently with
the Barths about their great yearling stallion for the AQHA world and will be
excited to see this big guy. I have heard great things from many trainers about
this KCS foal. We will again have
numerous offspring to cheer for at both the AQHA and APHA shows and we wish all
the exhibitors the best!
New to the website is an apparel line. You can find Scheckel
horses, KCS and Perfect Hustle
apparel (even thong underwear!!). We
will also be giving away hats at the world shows if anybody is interested. Just
let us know—we feel awkward asking people if they want a KCS or Perfect Hustle hat.
I also intermittently add new photos to the foals, show and
mares page. Even though it is not listed as recent updates you may find some
new photos not previously seen. Anyhow,
until next time—have a safe and exciting futurity season :)
July 2009 Update
I can hardly believe the summer has gone
by this fast! We have had lots of fun
this summer. Jason and dad took Bigtime Style to the PtHA World and returned
with 2 Reserve World Champion titles in weanling stallions. They recently
returned from the PHBA World with a World and Reserve World Champion title on
Absolutely Solid in weanling geldings. We were thrilled with both since we only
decided about 2 weeks before each show to take these foals. They just seemed
ready and they definitely did us proud.
I could not believe how well they set up with such little work. That is a
tribute to their great personalities. Such sweet boys to work with. I did not get to go the shows... I stayed home,
took care of the kids and horses and watched online and cheered for every Bucky
baby in the pen. How EXCITING!! The Pinto world Bucky had 6 horses show with 4
horses winning a total of 7 titiles. At the Palomino world he had 12 horses
show with 8 winning a total of 12 titles including the PREMIER HALTER
STALLION!! The stallion classes were especially impressive with Bucky offspring
winning 4 of the 6 classes and getting reserve in one of the 6. CONGRATS TO ALL and good luck to those in the ABRA, IBHA and
AQJHA worlds. Next stop for dad is at the IBHA world with Ima Stylin Bucky in yearling
stallions!!!
Our barn feels a little empty today. We
just sent Lookin Lika Classic and Saraphina to Wayne Halvorson to get ready
for the AQHA World. Saraphina is going to surprise a lot of people this
year—she is just awesome in every way. We also have Ima Exception with Wayne and with the
3 of them, we are pretty excited. We also sent Bigtime Style and Absolutely
Classic to JT Mitchell to get ready for the APHA Fall World. They are both paid up
in the new APHA futurities and we are excited about their chances. Of course,
Absolutely Classic is a little later foal but she is still good! We will have enough here to keep us busy
while fitting on Absolutely Solid and Absolutely Stylin for the APHA World Show
and Dam Near Perfect, Fergilicious and TS Perfect Connection for the fall
futurities in the Midwest. If you see us at a show—by all means, come up and
introduce yourself. Take care and good luck!
June 2009 Update
BIG NEWS!!
2009 Pinto World Show --- 6 offspring of
Kids Classic Style showed winning 7 total buckles!!!!!

May 2009 Update
May 10, 2009 - Well,
May is here and the grass is finally turning green. It is great to see those
foals out running and having fun. It has been a busy month. Lots of requests
for photos on the foals. Keep them coming, I am doing my best to stay with the
emails. We have started weaning some of the foals and most have their
registration papers either applied for or back. The babies should be ready to go to their new homes. I have
started listing a few with prices on the sale page.
We had
limited time in the last month to get out to the shows but our AQHA show horses
are busy at Wayne Halvorson's and our
APHA show horses will be going out shortly. We have 4 futurity foals to get
ready for the fall futurities and hopefully 3 or 4 world prospects to also get
ready. It will be a busy summer! See Ya!! Casey
March 2009 Update
March 30, 2009 - Dad just
got back from Minnesota were he attended the Twin Cities
sale. He sold a few yearlings and came back with a little surprise for my kids.
He decided to take “Peanut Butter” in the house for all to see. I have attached
some photos. He is one big kid himself. The kids loved it!!

Jason
and I just got back this morning from a trip to Oklahoma City. We went there for a warm
weekend but instead it decided to snow!! It turned out to be a good weekend
anyway as we got to see Bucky and I got the pleasure of showing his yearling
filly Lookin Lika Classic in the Oklahoma Spring show. Bucky looks absolutely
great and his semen concentration and motility is better than ever. You can
definitely tell Wayne, Rebecca and Mike take great care of him as he is healthy
and happy. We got to meet some wonderful people at the show and it sounds like
Bucky has another great crop of show horses on the ground this year. We are
always excited to see the photos of his offspring. We also did well at the
horse show with Wayne winning the yearling open mares and myself winning the amateur 2 year old and
under mares for the weekend. Lookin Lika Classic is a GREAT filly and we have
high expectations for her! We also have a few other Bucky yealings getting
ready for their show debuts. I hope to have photos up soon on the show page.
The APHA
side of things is going good as well. Last weekend Jason took our 2 year old
mare Madam Speaker to Cedar Rapids Iowa and was Amateur 2 and under and Open 2
year old mare champion for the weekend. He also received 3 grands and 1 reserve
championship. Dad’s yealing stallion Gunpowder N lead was at the show as well
but there were no other stallions to show against. Too early in the season
yet! We have some wonderful APHA foals
by Bucky and Perfect that will be entering the show ring for the fall APHA
world. A few will be presented in the new gold and platinum futurities. In
addition, we have our futurity babies for the fall. As you can see—lots to do
and not enough time to do it.
If anyone
is in the area and would like to stop by just give us a call. Otherwise, see
you at the shows! Good luck to everyone. Casey
February 2009 Update
I am
thinking about having an open house during a week in March or April for people
to go through our barns and see the foals. We live about 45 minutes from my
fathers place and the foals are scattered through both barns. Until then if
anyone is in the area and would like to see the foals just give us a call.
Additionally, if you would like to get updated information via email just let
me know at caseyveach@gmail.com or
pscheckel2@aol.com
Thanks, Casey Veach
February 25, 2009 - This
week has turned into a tough week. We lost Our Cover Girl on Monday and are
trying to get another mare to take her beautiful bay/overo stallion by Kids
Classic Style. Our Cover Girl is the mother to the three awesome paint Kids Classic
Style foals that I have posted on the foaling page. She had EPM when we bought
her from Classic Acres many years ago and has always had trouble walking and
getting up. We didn’t want to put her down because she seemed to still enjoy
life and loved having foals. We always gave her extra TLC and kept her close to
the barn. When she would get close to foaling we would bring her in the barn.
She always had trouble getting up in the stall (even in a 12 x 24 stall) and
that is what killed her on Monday. She got down overnight and could not get
back up and died from fluid on her lungs.
She was getting worse every year and we knew this day would come and
that is why we collected embryos last year. Her poor baby looked so
lonely. Fortunately we have an old mare
that foaled recently and she has accepted him as her own. There was about a day
which was tough on the little guy but he is going strong again! We will miss
Our Cover Girl terribly but she will live on in all three of her great foals.
February 20, 2009 - It has
been a wild and crazy month in our household. We started the month with five
foals and we currently are up to 16 with still a week left in the month. It is
a lot of work but we love every minute and every foal. We did take a hiatus to Florida for a week so
the kids could meet Mickey Mouse. My parents were in Florida for business so we were able to
spend some time with them as well. We went to Sea World and Taylor convinced my father to sit in the
front row for the Shamu experience. As you can see from the photos, they got
soaked. My father is the big guy with the blue rain coat on! We had a great
time in the warm weather but were excited to get back home as well. We would
like to thank Larry Hill for doing our chores and Scott Seiler and Larry Ties
for running the fort at my fathers place.

Our
foaling season has started off well with some really outstanding individuals
born in the last month. Truly we have something for everyone with AQHA and APHA
foals to fit anybody’s needs. The prices are also extremely reasonable. We
would love to see these foals go to good homes! We are starting to get calls
and offers on many of the foals, so if there is something you are interested
in, don’t hesitate. Also, we have kept back 3 AQHA yearlings and 3 APHA yearlings.
The AQHA yearlings include a gelding by The Exceptional One, a stallion by
Statutory and a filly by Statutory. We have some of their weanling photos up
and I am working on updated photos. They are currently in training with Leon
Borcherding. They are top notch prospects and if anyone is looking for a show
prospect give us a call. The APHA yearlings are two black/overo stallions by
The Perfect Hustle and a bay/overo filly by The Perfect Hustle. Again, we kept
these back for a reason. Would make great all around horses!
January 2009 Update
January 31 2009 - BIG NEWS!! The word is out that a palomino AQHA gelding by Kids
Classic Style premiered on Rachael Ray's all american animals section on
1/19/08. Let us know if you saw the show! Kids Classic Style was the high selling halter stallion at
both the Iowa and Michigan Quarter Horse stallion auctions!

January 19 2009 - Last night my daughter Taylor, age 5, got to experience the magic of life for the first time. We had been watching Misters Enchantress during the day and it seemed like she would foal at anytime. Taylor and I checked her at 5pm, 9pm and 11pm. I finally convinced Taylor to go to sleep and I told her that if I went out to check the mare I would come get her if she had her baby. I was not really planning on waking her up since our barn is a 5 minute drive from our house and the cold weather makes the drive not so much fun in the middle of the night. I fell asleep as well and suddenly the idea of getting up to go check the mare was not such a fond one. Suddenly I hear Taylor yelling for me, “Mom, its time to go check her!” At my door at 3:35 AM is my little girl all dressed up to go to the barn. I told her that we would check her in the morning and that she needed to go back to bed. She was not taking no for an answer and so here we go—8 degrees outside in a cold car on our way to the barn. We walk in the barn and see the mare is lying down. She gets up to greet us and suddenly a gush of water is seen down the tail. Her water had broke and we were just in time to see the miracle. I did my best to leave the situation to nature but when I saw the second leg start to bend back into the mare as the other leg was coming out I had to do something. I gently pulled the leg back out and removed the bag from the nose and gently helped the mare finish the process. The entire time, my little girl being 5 years old, stood in amazement at the entire process. Believe me, the next hour was nonstop questions on situations I did not think I would need to address this early in her life. “Where is her husband?”, “Why does the baby come out of her butt?”, “How did it get in there?”, all relevant but not easy to answer at 4 in the morning. Well everything went fine and Taylor has named the little filly “Snow Princess” after a Dora the Explorer show. Taylor was somewhat interested in horses before, but now, we cannot get her to stop talking about it. She was up at 6:30 this morning crying because we were not ready to go to the barn yet. She is convinced that she will see the remaining 15 mares in the barn all have their foals. And so---a horse crazy girl is born!!!!!
2009,
time sure does fly by!! As always the new year brings about excitement for what
is to come. It is also a time to take a look back at our blessings. Jason and I
are blessed with two young children, Taylor is 5 and Tyson is 3. We are thankful
everyday that they are happy and healthy! It has been a good year for our
family. Not because of our careers or accomplishments but because we all made
it through a year healthy. As a physician I am reminded every day of the precious gift of life. As we
start this new year I hope good health finds you and your families.
As I
said, the new year also brings about excitement, especially for most horse
owners. It is a time when new foals arrive by the day with hopes and dreams
attached to each one. A time to start fresh with the new show season, whether
with a new horse, trainer or personal outlook. Finally, it is a time to
reestablish our goals and dreams. Our major excitement right now is finally
reaching completion on our barn which will house 14 mares in large 12x12 and
12x24 stalls for foaling. In fact, we plan on foaling out a large majority of
my fathers early foals . We are located in DeWitt, Iowa approximately 45 minutes from my fathers place. By all means, give us a call
and stop by—the heat is on and the barn is full!! 217-899-3627
Bucky
and Perfect are healthy and awaiting another breeding season. I continue to get
emails on success stories of their foals. Everybody knows the success Bucky has
had but few know the great offspring Perfect has had. His foals have
conformation, athletic ability and smarts. People are always amazed at the
kindness and gentleness of his foals. He sires the absolute best horses, especially for amateur
or youth all around exhibitors.
As
always, I will do my best to keep the website updated with new foal pictures. I
hope all got the chance to see the Christmas video of my father with the two
stallions. I thought it was rather funny and my kids loved it. We have recently
added a new video of Kids Classic Style. Zach Wallinger was kind enough and
talented enough to edit/create a wonderful video for us. I might try and add some
video of foals and in the summer a video of Perfect. All will come with time!!
As for now, check out the foal page as we have a new addition. A pretty little
palomino filly named blonde. We are off to a great start!!
Lastly,
I have to mention that I have two brothers. Josh and Jake Scheckel, neither
like the horses and both are busy with their businesses. Josh is 30ish and owns
JJ Scheckel Construction. He sells heavy equipment and parts. Jake is 27ish and
owns S2 Construction, a heavy equipment operating business. I had to mention
them as they were wondering why I hadn’t included them on prior updates. Sorry
my updates are so wordy but it is just habit. \
Happy New Year
Casey Veach
December update...
Here is our new barn..... a work in progress.

November update...
Boy is it getting cold out there. That time of year when all horse owners start
getting excited about the new foals due for the upcoming year. We are very
excited as well about our upcoming crop. Check back often as I will do my best
to keep the site updated with new foal pictures.
Dad just
got back from a whirlwind trip that included a week at the APHA world and
another week at the AQHA world. My mother and I joined him at the AQHA world
and had a great time meeting a bunch of new people. We love to hear about the
success people have with Bucky and Perfects foals. The shows were fun as well,
we are so proud of all the horses that showed out of Bucky and Perfect. A
highlight was being able to be there to share the moment that Tom and Mary Reed
won Reserve World Champion mare with the beautiful buckskin mare Shez One
Classy Kid. The Reeds raised that mare and did most of the work themselves
making the win extra special. She was definitely a crowd favorite. It was also
fun to watch Terry Bradshaw show Failure to Launch to a 3rd place
finish in the amateur weanling geldings. This weanling is out of a mare we
bought from Terry named Take Charge Lady. The mare is 4 years old and this was
her first foal—WOW, what a gorgeous first foal. She is bred back the same and
will have a foal out of CK Kid early this spring. Check her out on the mare
page. We also got to cheer on Dirty Dollars, a yearling stallion by Bucky. This
gorgeous stallion is owned by Scott Carroll and is out of one of our mares LT
Playgirls Dollar.
Since
getting back we have been busy trying to get everything organized for the upcoming winter and spring. Jason and I are
building a new horse barn and hopefully it will be done by Christmas. Dad is
moving mares around to get open mares under lights and early foaling mares up
by the barn. I am working on getting all the futurity nominations done and in
on time. We are thinking about paying up Kids Classic Style into the Platinum
futurity division for the fall APHA futurity at the world show. It is a new thing
APHA is trying and I think it would be a benefit for all mare owners that bred
to Bucky. We are looking for something similar on the AQHA side but haven’t
found anything that would benefit every mare owner. We would be interested in
any ideas. Of course, Bucky is paid up in the Incentive fund and breeders trust
and Perfect is paid up in the breeders trust.
Finally,
a new show season is just around the corner. If you are looking for something
special for the new year just give us a call—we have many great coming
yearlings that will be offered for sale but haven’t been listed on the site
yet. We would love to see these great horses go to a loving show home. We
consider all offers.
Till
next time
Have a
safe and happy holiday season
Casey
Hello Again...
Well, so far October has turned out to be a very busy month. Jason and I are working on building a new horse barn which as you know always seems to be more work than initially thought. Unfortunately because of the craziness we did not make it to Congress this year. Jason, myself and Tom are planning on making it to some of the AQHA World and Tom may make it to some of the APHA world. We wish everyone great success with their Bucky and Perfect offspring. We will be cheering you on!!
Well, I know a lot of people frequent the website and to keep it interesting I try and do frequent updates to the site. Todd at Double S Design has so gratefully put up with my madness. Any suggestions for the site just let me know. Currently we have a video company working on compiling a music video for Bucky and I will have that on the website when we get it. I am excited to see the results as we got video way back to the point when he won the world. Also, make sure to keep checking on the foals page as we have foaling calculators posted and I will try and update the site with foal pictures as they arrive. We are VERY excited about our crop this year! As you can see we have some great mares bred to some great studs. Myself, I cannot wait until the arrival of the embryos we collected off of Absolutely Thrilling. I think this should be a magical cross. Of course, Ms Justifiable is another great mare who has already proven success with Bucky. We also have many mares bred to some great outside stallions so keep up with the site as ALL the foals will be for sale. You are sure to find your next champion in this bunch!
Also, keep up with the winners page, we try and post every world and reserve world champion but sometimes we forget someone. This is because I have to go through his 600 and some foals by hand to see which offspring are out of him at the shows. The associations no longer list the sire which makes it difficult. If I have forgotten you make sure you let me know! We are of course proud of all the winners, either State or National level and love to hear from the proud owners. Bucky and Perfect are both doing well and getting excited for the breeding season. We have had a lot of interest this year in Perfect. I think the mare owners are going to be very happy with their Perfect offspring. They are often great minded and very talented. He is priced extremely reasonable for this market as well which helps. There continues to be great interest in Bucky which we are grateful for. We believe he has more to do as a Sire. He is truly the real deal as can be seen on the statistics page.
Lastly I would like to extend my sympathy to Vicki Livasy and family at Double L for their loss of DC Precision. He was a great sire but more than that he was a great friend to their family and I know they will greatly miss him.
Take care and be safe!
Casey
Hello everyone...
I thought a news page would be a good addition to the website as most people we talk to want to be informed on what is happening in the world of Bucky. I will be more than happy to pass that information on to all of his fans but first let me introduce myself. I am Casey Veach, Tom’s daughter. My husband Jason and I love horses and like most people we got into horses not only because of the beautiful animal, but also because of the great people it allows you to meet. Most of the time you will see me, Jason and my father Tom together at the horse events. My mother, Pat is not really into the horses and doesn’t get the same thrill that we do. Jason and I love to show horses as well but with our two small children and demanding careers, it is difficult for Jason and me to get away much. What my father and I really love is when someone else enjoys one of our foals. It is great for us to cheer them on from the sidelines. At anytime, if you see something you like, feel free to ask. There is no dumb question, too low an offer or too small of a concern. We will do our best to answer emails and phone calls in a timely manner. We look forward to meeting new people, so if you see us at a show, make sure to stop us and introduce yourself. At different points my father may add an addition to this page but generally he is not very good at typing.
As most of you already know, my father recently purchased Kids Classic Style. What most don’t know is that the deal was done over supper with a handshake between two families that genuinely care about the horse. There was no dealer, trader, trainer or any other line of people involved. Kenny and Kara Mills have done a great job with Bucky and we are honored that they trusted us with that responsibility. With that transaction came many questions and I hope to answer some of them today. There was initial concern from the fans about Bucky's health and breeding status. We have had a full veterinarian workup on Bucky and he is healthy and happy. The great people at Halvorson Ranch have taken a little extra weight off of him to help relieve some stress on his legs and the result is great. We just visited him at the end of September and found him moving about like a young stallion. He looks great and it's obvious he feels great. I encourage anybody in the area to stop in and give him a visit. Wayne, Rebecca and the bunch at Halvorson Ranch would be more than happy to show him to you. As far as breeding status, Bucky is doing wonderfully. The problem Bucky had last season was thought to be related to the angle at which he was collected. This has been fixed and he is doing great. Since July, Wayne has collected him once a week and has been freezing the semen. Each collection is sent for morphologic analysis at a reproductive specialty center in Oklahoma to evaluate motility, concentration, freeze/thaw status and morphology of the heads, tails ect. Each frozen straw therefore has a full morphology report with it. The veterinarians at that facility place KCS above average in all aspects. In fact, a semen report can be viewed on our website. I thought it best to make it available for all to see but if any additional questions arise feel free to call Wayne Halvorson and he can give direct numbers to this facility if he cannot answer your questions himself.
As most of you also already know we plan on limiting the book to Bucky in 2009. We really feel like it is in the best interest of the horse and mare owners. We want to make sure every mare owner gets the best semen to get their mare in foal. Reducing the numbers will also take some of the stress off of Bucky. It takes a toll on a stallion to “perform” at such a pace for so many years. As for rebreeds, we plan on honoring the 2008 paid contracts with a one year rebreed as the contracts states.
Finally, I have heard concerns about regarding the continued promontion of Bucky. We absolutely plan on promoting him. You will see in upcoming journals new revived ads for Bucky. We have many ideas on new potential ad designs. One thing we do plan on doing is trying to keep a winners page updated. We are so happy for all of you that are having success with Bucky's foals and we believe that really it is you we should be promoting. Therefore on our website you will find a section for winners. Please let us know if we have forgotten anyone and feel free to place a winner's photo on the site. We plan on running ads in the journal as well with the results. Just believe that we are your biggest fans and will help in anyway we can. I want to say thank you for your concern in Bucky and I will try and keep everyone updated on any changes.
For those “Perfect” fans out there, don’t worry, future additions will have information on him. If you have noticed in the recent Paint horse journal he is doing great. The picture was taken this year at age 12 in our front yard. He is amazing! He continues to be a big lovable teddy bear and that personality everybody loves comes out in his offspring. Until next time, take care and be safe.
